Adventure has always fueled my creativity

– to try the unexpected, to do out of the ordinary, and continuously hustle to stretch the limits of my mind. For a small-town girl from India, there has been a lot to explore.

I left the comfort of home at the early age of 15 to work towards a Bachelors degree in Advertising. I graduated from Sir JJ Institute of Applied Arts – one of the most prestigious art colleges in India.

In 2003, I received a generous scholarship award to fund an international advanced education in design and this brought me to the United States. It opened up several opportunities in creative exploration as I worked toward a Masters degree in Visual Communication.

In 2006, I accepted a research residency with the Benetton Group’s communication center and moved to Italy for 2 years. Here I worked with creative people from all corners of the world and collaborated on challenging, high profile projects with the Benetton Group, United Nations and World Health Organization, to name the prominent ones. I figured out the importance of creating fearlessly. I backpacked across Europe as a solo traveler and along the way explored many different facets of life.

Fast forward to 2011 – I started providing consulting services to a few tech start-ups when my career took a shift as a mother of 2 kids. After bagging a couple of design awards, I realized my skills were much sought after even independently. In 2015, I started Dorem Ipsum, LLC as a full-service Communication Design studio based in Cary, North Carolina.

In the past, I have served as an adjunct faculty in the department of Graphic Design at the Art Institute of Raleigh and in the School of Arts at Virginia Commonwealth University.

I have conceptualized and art directed holistic campaigns for a wide range of clients – from start-ups to multinational companies and global organizations. I have lived and worked in 3 different countries, on 3 different continents over the last 15 years, and I am able to bring that global perspective to my work.

I am collaborative, flexible, passionate, and grounded in purpose. I am ambidextrous – I play ball and roll the mouse with my right hand – left hand for writing, drawing, painting, cooking, cleaning, and seizing new opportunities.
